ljmc's blog

Hi again !

I'm Louis. I was born in 1996, in France. I lived in France for the first almost 18 years of my life. A month shy of my 18th birthday, I moved to the UK to study at Imperial (pre bad logo) in London, which worked out well and now have a BSc1 and a MSc2. I even started a PhD, but with the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic and, in general, changing circumstances, I dropped out.

These days, in no particular order. I live in Cambridge with my partner. I practice intermittent fasting (8/16) and follow a flexitarian diet with less than a quarter of my meals containing meat products that I source exclusively from high welfare local producers. I am cisgender male and use the pronouns he/him. I work (mostly) remotely as a senior software engineer for a company headquartered the UK, but my team is scattered around the globe. At work, I am a advocate of the inclusive naming initiative and have raised many comments/pull-requests to reduce harmful language. For as long as I can remember, I have felt traits associated with autism. I enjoy Tuesday half price bowling and drinks a couple of times a month. I cook a fair bit and like to experiment with it, a topic I might include it in this blog at some point. I like animals, especially farm animals, and have visit Wimpole Estate's working farm several times in the last year to see the animals grow up.
